A Colorful Affair?
Well, that was the title that came to my mind when I sat down and was sifting through the images that I collected for today’s post. Being a South Indian, the various rituals of a North Indian wedding (Mehendi, Sangeet, Chooda, the actual wedding) has always fascinated me. The reason? Because it is all about having fun and having the best time in your entire life.
For that, I wouldn’t say South Indian weddings are in any way lesser than that. It is just that, the latter is different – in the sense – it is more traditional, fun in a different kind of way. Nowadays, South Indian weddings are a blend of the two i.e. Mehendi + Sangeet + Reception + Wedding, the first two inspired from North Indian Weddings and the rest are done in “pakka” South Indian style.
Well all said and done, Indian weddings have always been tagged as “Big Fat Indian Weddings” filled with laughter, fun and colors mainly. And when talking about a colorful wedding, what would be better than a “Rajasthani Wedding”? That’s right, you have guessed it right. Today’s post is all about Rajasthani Wedding. So get your boards ready for some serious Rajasthani inspired wedding.
Love those colorful umbrellas, paper fans and cloth dolls as a part of the decor. And the colors of these flowers is just bright and fun! Orange and Yellow – a lovely bright color palette isn’t it? Add in a dash of pink, green for more vibrancy and colors.
It is true that ‘more the colors, more the merrier’, but have 2 to 3 colors as dominant ones. Example: Your color palette for the decor could be orange + yellow + pink + blue + green. Maintain two colors (orange & yellow) as the dominant ones.
How cute are these little colorful elephants as centerpieces or probably two huge ones at the entrance or as a perfect cake topper? And these mehendi inspired colorful stationary are just so in sync with the whole decor and theme.
And while you get on with the decor now, a small amount of inspiration for your jewellery and accessories also.
Get inspired ladies! More coming up for you.
How lovely do these little cakes look? Instead of one large tiered cake, how about a single tiered cake for the bride and groom to cut and for the guests individual little cakes inspired from mehendi design and the colors of your theme.
